Camera module specialist Namuga has announced a partnership with German 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor expert pmdtechnologies (pmd) to jointly develop next-generation 3D ToF (Time-of-Flight) camera solutions powered by AIDE (AI Depth Enhancement) technology, an AI model developed by pmd.
This collaboration combines pmd’s high-precision 3D image sensing technology with Namuga’s expertise in mass production and camera module design, as well as cutting-edge AI-based image recognition and deep learning (AIDE) capabilities. Together, the companies aim to deliver intelligent 3D vision solutions optimized for a wide range of industries, including robotics, consumer electronics, displays, and mobility.
Namuga recently hosted its 2025 TECH DAY event at its headquarters in Pangyo, Korea, where the joint technology showcase and collaboration announcement between Namuga and pmd drew significant attention from industry attendees.
pmd’s depth sensing technology has been pioneering in various applications like smartphones, AR headsets, automotive and other applications. pmd’s AIDE (AI Depth Enhancement) solution leverages artificial intelligence to reconstruct depth images in high resolution, offering enhanced distance measurement accuracy and superior object recognition performance.
A Namuga representative stated, “Through our collaboration with pmd, we aim to advance AI-driven 3D vision technology to the next level, delivering new value and differentiated user experiences to our global customers.”
