Entering another AR headset @ CES 2018:

pmd 3D depth sensing technology to be integrated in Rokid’s AR glasses

At CES 2018, Rokid announced plans to release its first augmented reality glasses called Rokid Glass already this year and shows a prototype at its Booth located at LVCC, South Hall 2 – 25406.

Rokid’s AR glasses rely on pmd’s sophisticated 3D depth sensing technology to allow its wearer to visually interact with objects, information and menues which are displayed in front of the viewers eyes. In addition, the standalone headset Rokid Glass will allow voice control and face recognition.

“Rokid clearly raises the bar for future smart home devices featuring advanced AI and deep learning to deliver information on-demand, providing entertainment and performing tasks via voice and visual interactions. Integrating our 3D depth sensing technology into the new AR glasses was very straight forward and we are eager to see a great new device on the horizon. Having co-worked with Rokid for months we’re sure that this will be a huge success“, emphasises Jochen Penne, Executive Board Member of pmdtechnologies ag.

"We are proud to be working with pmd to use their state of the art camera as we introduce Rokid Glass. Bringing our technologies together puts us at the forefront of innovation as we embark on the future of AR and VR visualization", adds Reynold Wu, Director of Marketing and Product at Rokid.
